I walked with my sign that says--Be Kind. Demand Respect. Don't Give Up.
I took the 27 bus to Shepherd and Bissonnet over to Kirby. I then walked from Kirby and Bissonnet down through River Oaks to Kirby and Shepherd.
Here is day 1 of my walk.
Here is day 2 of my walk.
Here is day 3 of my walk.
When I walk in more upscale parts of town, such as my walk I discuss here in River Oaks, I get fewer responses from people.
However, landscaping crews and folks in trucks for cable companies and various service firms are friendly and often offer a honk and a wave.
In the pictures above you see a sign for a park and the park itself that is run by the River Oaks Foundation. The park is a perfectly fine small green space, but there is no bench in the place and sit and relax.
What kind of park is that? What are folks so afraid of that one bench will allow to happen?
Let us please be more kind and more open with each other.
