I think the picture I took below is a representation of a Victory Garden at the Chicago garden. If not, it is still a nice some picture of some crops and you get the idea.
Victory Gardens were gardens everyday people planted to grow their own food and to make the best use of scarce resources during the war.
This is a good idea for today.
Victory Gardens today could combat Climate Change and all the toxic wasteful food in our society.
Maybe the longterm urban poor in our low wage nation could ask for, claim or seize unused land in our cities and plant crops so they can have decent food to eat.
Government has a role in our lives.
But the work of freedom and resistance is up to each of us.
A modern Victory Garden could be a community garden created with the blessing of local government.
Or a modern Victory Garden could be something we assert the right to create as a reply to an economic and political system that is screwing up the Earth and offering underpaid people unhealthy junk to eat.
