Texas is first in the nation in the percentage of people without health insurance.
From the Texas Medical Association---
"Texas is the uninsured capital of the United States. More than 6.3 million Texans - including 1.2 million children - lack health insurance. Texas' uninsurance rates, 1.5 to 2 times the national average, create significant problems in the financing and delivery of health care to all Texans. Those who lack insurance coverage typically enjoy far-worse health status than their insured counterparts."
I get why people worry about Ebola. It is a scary disease.
Yet also, we have millions of Texans who each day are at risk of poor health because they can't afford health care or because they don't have access to health care.
Fully implementing the Affordable Care Act in Texas would help so many decent and hard working people.
