It is an 1823 cabin built in Harris County and moved to Sam Houston Park in Downtown Houston in 1973.

Ideas of home and family that might be suggested by the cabin in the picture, are strengthened by ideas and concepts of inclusion that have gained in importance since 1823.
A home is better when all are welcome and family has many different hopeful definitions.
