Cornyn Houston Office Protest Continues-Purpose Always Standing Openly & Confidently For Democracy

PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO THE HOUSTON DEMOCRACY PROJECT

The John Cornyn Houston Office Protest will continue even though he lost his runoff.

Cornyn will be in office until January. More importantly, we are there so people see others like themselves standing openly & confidently for democracy no matter aggression of the right. We have always been a protest first. Nothing about Cornyn's defeat changes our purpose.

The next protest, Tuesday, June 2, will be Week 486. September 8 will be Week 500. We will mark our 10 year anniversary in January, 2027.

Please join us each Tuesday, 11:30-1, 5300 Memorial Drive.

The next action is when you organize it. The 1st Amendment is your permit. The only credential needed is your presence. Voting will not be enough. The work ahead is ours.

I’m an organizer of the Weekly John Cornyn Houston Office Protest. The Cornyn Protest team has been outside Senator Cornyn’s office each Tuesday for eight years now with one clear message: In addition to voting, we must show up physically and non-conventionally for the fights over democracy. Events have proven this assertion correct.

I'm on the Egberto Willies Politics Done Right Show every Thursday from 6 AM to 7 AM for the Houston Democracy Project segment. You can hear the show on the radio, stream it on KPFT or watch later on Egberto's YouTube channel.

I am the 2024 Barbara Cigainero Volunteer of the Year Award recipient the Houston LGBTQIA+ Political Caucus. I have a political science degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati and ran a Cincinnati City Council office.

I read a lot of books and follow baseball closely.
