Some Houston Democracy Project notes--

Tonight, 4/28, I'll be at Harris County Texas Democratic Women meeting with guest Artie Blanco who is a Vice Chair of the DNC. She is from Nevada. This is at 6:30 at the AFL-CIO building at 2506 Sutherland. Thanks to top notch immigration attorney Silvia Mintz for her leadership with this meeting.

Tomorrow, 4/29, is Week 429 of the John Cornyn Houston Office Protest, 11:30-1, 5300 Memorial Dr. Please join us.

Thursday, 5/1, I'll be on the weekly Houston Democracy Project Hour on the Egberto Willies Politics Done Right Show. It is 6 AM to 7 on KPFT 90.1 FM & at anytime on Egberto's YouTube page.

There are also multiple 50501 protests on 5/1. I've seen reference to ones in Houston, Pearland & Conroe. There is a 5/1 protest for the rule of law and to stop the ceaseless lying attacks on our judges from noon to one in Downtown Houston at 1208 Franklin.

Friday, 5/2, noon to one, is the weekly protest at the Social Security office at 13302 Westheimer. I'll be there. This is at the very busy corner of Westheimer and Eldridge. This action was started by my Cornyn Protest colleague Marsha Kamish. The next action will be when you organize it.

Saturday, 5/3, at 9 AM I'll be part of Melissa McDonough's interactive forum on meeting the challenges of our current politics at the First Metropolitan Church at 8870 W. Sam Houston. I'll be at a table with my Cornyn Protest colleague Mauri Bird Lucas where we will be discussing the value of protest & how to organize a protest. Melissa worked hard as the 2024 CD 38 Democratic nominee & she is still working hard.

Tuesday, 5/13, I'm the speaker at the monthly Baytown Area Democrats meeting. This is at 6 PM at 801 West Texas Ave. in Baytown. Thanks to the club for inviting me. I'm happy to speak at your meeting as well.
I'll be updating the Houston Democracy Project Blog regularly, maintaining a strong social media presence & having many one on one conversations with rank and file Houstonians & local leaders.

I'm maintaining May 3 election list which is, as far as I know, the most comprehensive list of good and plausible candidates in May 3rd elections in Harris County & nearby counties. That list is pinned as the first post on my Facebook feed. Please comment here or message me if you have any additions to the list.

Our leadership and our support of others is the main act as we fight for freedom in the challenging days ahead. The Houston Democracy Project is helping lead the fight in Houston & Harris County.

Here is the Houston Democracy Project list of things each of us can do to fight Trump/Musk. Here is a fundraising pitch for the Houston Democracy Project. I'm doing the work and showing up in many different ways.  Please help the effort.

I'm on the Egberto Willies Politics Done Right Show every Thursday from 6 AM to 7 AM for the Houston Democracy Project segment. You can hear the show on the radio, stream it on KPFT or watch later Egberto's YouTube channel.

    I'm Neil Aquino.

I'm a rank & file Houstonian. I’ve volunteered extensively for Democratic candidates and causes, and served as staff for multiple campaigns. My work for Democratic campaigns has involved communications and strategy.

I’m an organizer of the Weekly John Cornyn Houston Office Protest. The Cornyn Protest team has been outside Senator Cornyn’s office each Tuesday for eight years now with one clear message: In addition to voting, we must show up physically and non-conventionally for the fights over democracy. Events have proven this assertion correct.
