Above is the statement from the Houston LGBTQ+ Political Caucus opposing Mayor Whitmire's anti-First Amendment prohibiting protest in front of the homes of elected officials. I made the motion for the Caucus to oppose the ordinance at the August membership meeting. The vote in favor was something like 25-1 from attendees at the meeting. This success is part of my work with the Houston Democracy Project. The issue will be voted on as Item 67 at the Council session of Wednesday, August 14.
