How We Maintain Public Space Reflects How We Care For One Another

This picture is called—“Uncovered bus stop in hot Houston with no bench, damaged route marker sign & weeks old hurricane debris.”

It is important that our public environments be decent and well-maintained. Beyond the debris that will be picked up whenever, how can there be no covering and no seat at the bus stop?

When we are told public space does not matter, we are being told our collective aspiration to live decently with one another is not important.

Not a good stage or platform for healthy democracy.
