Next Action Is When You Organize It-Great Protest Scene In Cincinnati

​This past Thursday, 8/13, I joined the weekly protest on the Montgomery Rd. bridge over I-71. 

This protest is each Thursday, 10 AM-11:30 AM. You can follow the Coffee, Compassion, Action Coffee, Compassion, Action Coffee, Compassion, Action page on Facebook for information of protests and actions across the Cincinnati-area.

Unlike Houston where police often feel the need to send 4 or 5 or more cars to watch small numbers of protesters, there were no Cincinnati police for the crew you see above. 

It is important we show up for ourselves. We've seen this with the South Korean martial law crisis in December, 2024, the response to ICE in Minnesota & here in Houston where public pressure forced Mayor Whitmire and his council allies to admit that the city had a role in investigating the ICE murder of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. 

The next action is when you organize it. The 1st Amendment is your permit. The only credential needed is your presence. Voting won’t be enough. The work ahead is ours.

I've been on the road a bit this summer which has limited Houston Democracy Project Blog posts over recent weeks. I'm done traveling for the foreseeable future. So please look for more consistent posting here in the days ahead.  ​
