ABOUT THE BALTIMORE RIOTS---WE ONLY HAVE ONE LIFE ON THE EARTH

Folks should not riot. It serves no hopeful purpose. 

But it is also so that the last 40 years of public policy in America has been a slow-motion reactionary riot of cutting wages, lashing out at people who are different, rolling back gun control, police violence & bombing other countries. Many are desperate for a peaceful hopeful response to all this. Yet our convential political process is owned by big money and often directed by the most angry and resentful portion of the public.

And yet as unlikely to be helpful as rioting is, you can't expect people to live their one life we have on this Earth being hassled by the police and seeing few real prospects to a good life no matter how hard you work.

Many police are simply terrorists with a badge. They've hassled Black folks in Baltimore to the edge of reason for years & years now. Nobody should be attacked. But the Mayor of Baltimore &  President Obama should not use the code word "thugs." Thugs is now just a variation of the N word.

What is the way forward? There has to be a way forward. But I can't say I know what that path would be.
