AS WRONG AS GREG ABBOTT IS TO ENCOURAGE JADE HELM FEARS, THE FACT IS THAT CRAZY BRUTAL THINGS HAPPEN ALL THE TIME IN AMERICA

As we correctly shake our heads at Texas Governor Abbott playing into Tea Party fears of a federal government military takeover of Texas, it is in fact true that the government dosed Black folks with syphilis and radiation in secret medical experiments, that Ronald Reagan was content with letting gay folks die of AIDS, that many people strongly suspected the levees would not hold in New Orleans, that cops are systemically killing Black men, that we spent a trillion dollars on an Iraq war based on lies & that the last 40 years of economic policy have been about harming working people. 

Just today there was a story that the American Psychological Association collaborated with the Bush Administration to facilitate torture. 

People believe crazy brutal things in part because crazy brutal things happen all the time. 

Our political, corporate and professional mainstream establishments are often all about doing crazy brutal things to people.
