AUSTRALIAN BUSHFIRES AND VERY HOT WEATHER IS GOD'S JUDGEMENT FOR REPEAL OF CARBON TAX

Severe bush fires and record high temperatures are afflicting Australia for the second time in three years. 

These fires are God's judgement for Australia, under the terrible extreme right-wing leadership of Prime Minister Tony Abbott, repealing a carbon tax. 

My theory that these fires are God's judgement for Australia is on more solid ground than are the views of climate change deniers.

Pope Francis seems to share my view. The Pope is getting set to call upon Catholics to address climate change in their everyday lives.

So it goes for Australia. The people got what they voted for at the polls.

It's a worse story for Australia's Pacific island neighbors who are being flooded away by rising seas caused by climate change.  

My prosperity relative to much of the world, and the fact I'll likely be dead before we see the worst of climate change's impact on the Earth make this issue someone else's problem from my perspective. You'd think though that folks with kids and grandkids would care. I guess we'll have to decide how to proceed.
