![]() I follow baseball. I don't blog about it often because there is already enough sports in this society. The teams I follow most are the Tampa Bay Rays and the Houston Astros. The Rays win in a small market and with poor attendance. Tampa has been successful since '08 and seem in good shape in '14. It's interesting how they maintain their success despite many obstacles. (Photo is of none other than the great Babe Ruth.) I like this line about the Rays from the link immediately above from newly acquired relief pitcher Heath Bell--- "Reliever Heath Bell, a veteran of four other teams, said he was struck by how inclusive and clique-free their clubhouse is..." It is good to include people and to see people as people without distinction. It is good to see inclusion as a way of doing well in the world. The Astros are my hometown team. No team ever but for the 1962-64 Mets has lost more games in 3 seasons than have the 2011-13 Astros. It takes a lot to go wrong to lose so much. It has been interesting to watch. Something has to go wrong nearly every game to lose so much I think the Astros are headed to another 100 loss season. We'll see. Winning would have virtues, but I've come to so enjoy the small crowds & the quiet. I know this is not a very good hometown attitude regarding the Astros, but it just a game and we all need our peace. Please read all of NeilAquino.com
