In this work located near intersection of Shepherd & Pinemont in Houston, the rule of law for all--represented by the speed limit sign--is teetering into the harshness of the security state of barbed wire under the cover of the American Flag.

The way of all cars.

The street signs at Veterans Memorial & Diplomat in Houston convey more sense of history & more insight in keeping the peace than the entire Bannon/trump administration.

As I rode the 27 bus today, I read a book of 8th century Japanese poetry called Written On Water. The people's bus is a place of thought and reflection.

Bus stop.

This is near the intersection of Veteran's Memorial and Gulf Bank today. The woman who took this picture and the gentleman who was with her, are our fellow Houstonians. I don't believe I'm naive, but barriers can be broken down by being open, respectful and kind. I wish our local political leaders had as an everyday focus expanding the number of people willing to take part in civic life.
Today was the third day of my all week walk for kindness and respect in Houston.
I walked on Memorial Drive, caught the 27 bus, then walked on Shepherd, Veterans Memorial, Gulf Bank & then back to the bus.
The pictures above show some of what I saw and did.
I've walked 16,800 steps today for a total of 63,969 from Monday to today.
Here is day one of my walk.
Here is day two of my walk.
Every candidate for at-large Houston city council should by referendum be required to file a route for a 250,000 step walk of city neighborhoods and submit to the public a map of where they went & what they would do to partner with the residents of each of the communities.

Changing the social and political climate in our nation is up to each of us. Doing so is a creative act.
I don't have a deeper thought than to be nobody at all to the extent I can, to be out in the presence of others & to keep walking.
