 Yesterday I attended the Houston Democratic Socialists of America meeting.
Here is a story from The Nation magazine about the rise of Democratic Socialists of America. With this post you see a picture of the voting card they handed us. Nicely done and union printed. I am a DSA member. DSA meetings in Houston get crowds of 50 to 80 folks from what I've seen so far. Pretty good. A topic at last night's meeting was endorsing candidates here in Houston and Harris County. DSA supported candidates are not on a separate ballot line. They are Democrats who have sought out the endorsement. Here are the 4 candidates Houston DSA endorsed---- Ali Khorasani for U.S. House District 2. Danny Norris for Harris County Board of Education #6. Franklin Bynum for Harris County Criminal Court 8. Fran Watson for Texas Senate District 17. What a fine slate of great Americans. Houston DSA has also done great work in helping people impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
