HOUSTON DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS OF AMERICA HAVE EXCELLENT MEETING AND DISCUSS TANGIBLE ACTIONS

This evening I attended the monthly meeting of the Houston chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America. 

The meeting was held at the AFL-CIO labor hall you see in the picture.

There was a crowd of about 80 folks at the meeting.   

Tangible actions discussed at the meeting this evening were--


1. Taking part in union led Labor Day actions for the $15 minimum wage.

2. Information from a union representative about an upcoming session about the link between unions and immigration & how to help oppose the soon to be implemented terrible Show Me Your Papers SB 4 law in Texas.

3. Information from a NARAL Texas organizer about an upcoming reproductive rights day that involves meeting with members of Houston City Council.

​The meeting was friendly and open. 

There are many avenues to work against what Trump and the right is doing & to work for a hopeful future.
