HOUSTON FLOODING CAUSES HUMAN BEINGS TO YIELD A BIT OF HABITAT TO WILDLIFE---IF JUST FOR A FEW HOURS5/26/2015 Here are two creatures I saw this morning in Houston while taking a walk after the heavy rain last night.
On the left is a nutria. On the right is some type of snake. These creatures seemed fine with the flooding. Glad to see if just for a brief time that some of our local wildlife was able to enjoy an expanded habitat. Human beings don't yield very much to other creatures of the Earth unless they are forced to do so. Please read all of NeilAquino.com

Great critter pictures! With Buffalo Bayou so high this morning, I was a little worried about the Waugh Street bat colony. I figure they probably know how to protect themselves from water, though, and at least the colony isn't under Memorial Drive.
