Today I attended the Congressman Al Green Impeachment Town Hall in Houston.
They had a good crowd off what was one day notice for the event. Maybe 200 folks showed up.
I've included two pictures I took of the meeting with this post. One is a picture of some the audience and the other is of Rep. Green being interviewed by members of our free press.
The crowd at the town hall was as diverse as is the Houston area & as is Rep. Green's District. People of all races don't like Trump.
Green announced representatives from the AFL-CIO, Communications Workers of America, the Houston Woman's March & the Nation of Islam as represented in the crowd.
There was a very large police presence. Rep. Green has reported receiving racist death threats since calling for Trump's impeachment.
Rep. Green advocated impeachment and also said people need to push back against Trump each day impeachment or not.
Here is Rep. Green's statement on the floor of the House of Representatives for impeachment.
My view is that I support all avenues to oppose Trump. Impeachment at the moment is not something we are likely to see soon. But if a Congressperson wants to put the idea out there and get people thinking about it---That sounds fine to me.
