IF I CAN VOTE FOR IRAQ WAR SUPPORTING HILLARY CLINTON, FOLKS ON THE LEFT CAN SEE THE GOOD IN POPE FRANCIS EVEN IF HE MEETS WITH KIM DAVIS

Regarding the fact Pope Francis met with gay marriage denying clerk Kim Davis, here is what I have to say---

If I'm going to be asked by some on the center-left to support a Presidential candidate such as Hillary Clinton who backed the War in Iraq and who serves as an extension of an administration that banned gay marriage, deregulated financial markets and jailed millions of Black men, then surely we can see the good in the Pope even if he is very wrong on the basic civil rights question on the right to marry who you choose.

I will support Hillary Clinton if she is the Democratic nominee in 2016 and I live in a contested state for 2016.  (If I do not live in a contested state, I'll likely vote Green Party for President as I did in Texas in 2012.) The stakes are too high to let Republicans win in 2016. 

But I will have to toss out a lot of my values to vote for Hillary Clinton. 

The Pope's views on climate change and economic inequality are important. His quiet demeanor and reaching out to the marginal in society are a good example for others. The Pope was not in America to talk about our domestic left and right. He was here to say what he had to say and to allow people to make of it what they will.

We will take the best of what others have to offer and with that information and inspiration we will do our best to help others, help ourselves and move ahead.
