I'm very white, male and European.
(And I see myself as North American and of the New World as much as I see myself as "American")
My mom's family arrived in Massachusetts in the 1630's.
My dad's white privilege was to be a medic in the Korean War.
And after 16 years in Houston, I'm surely a Texan to some degree.
I'm far to the left by convential political standards. I was one of a few white Houstonians to attend the Michael Brown march in Houston last week.
It is difficult at times not to generalize, but we've got to take everybody as an individual.
