IT IS FUN AND USEFUL TO CONSIDER THE EVERYDAY WORLD AND TO HAVE A ROLE IN SHAPING HOW OTHERS SEE THE EVERYDAY WORLD---PROVIDENCE HURRICANE BARRIER
I got an e-mail yesterday from the publishing arm of the National Academy of Sciences asking if they could use the photo you see above of the Providence R.I. hurricane barrier in an upcoming book called Reducing Coastal Risk on the East and Gulf Coasts.
I took this picture in 2008 and used it on my old Texas Liberal blog.
While I'll see no money for use of this picture, I have asked if they might send me a copy of the book when published. Though I'm not so sure they'll do that either.
In any case---Who needs a bunch of fancy college degrees to be published in a science book?
