
As we move to authoritarian government based on white nationalism, I'm keeping an object each day and some brief notes about my life and what is going on in our politics.

Day after Trump told Jewish reporter at press conference to “sit down” after he asked about rising anti-semitism in the U.S.
What I did: Went to supermarket.
Object of the day: Houston Texans soda cup that cost $1.61 at a convenience store.
2/18/17
Day after Trump tweeted that press was “enemy of the people.”
What I did: Watched Fast & Furious on DVD.
Object of the day: Blank white cards that were handed out at a lunch of friends I attended with intent that the cards be mailed to elected officials.
2/19/17
Day after Trump held a rally in Florida though the 2020 election is 3 years away.
What I did: Attended meeting of Indivisible Houston to oppose Trump.
Object of the day: Powerball ticket in effort to win $311 million jackpot. Update--Did not win.
2/20/17
Day after John McCain said Trump’s attacks on press are “how dictators get started.”
What I did: Vacuum.
Object of the day: A leaf I picked up off the sidewalk in a light rain.
2/21/17
Day after many tombstones toppled over at Jewish cemetery in St. Louis.
What I did: Call my mom.
Object of the day: Plastic bottle of water.
2/22/17
Day after Department of Homeland Security issued memos detailed upcoming immigration deportations.
What I did: Attended protest calling Houston Congressman Culberson to hold a public town hall meeting.

2/23/17
Day after Trump rescinds protections for transgendered kids.
What I did: Laundry.
Object of the day: Page a day calendar for day with picture of cat and rabbit.
2/24/17
Day after Trump says ongoing removal of immigrants is a “military operation.”
What I did: Read a baseball preview magazine for 2017 season.
Object of the day: Mail solicitation from Houston Symphony asking me to attend a concert.
2/25/17
Day after Trump said Mexico border wall is “way ahead of schedule.”
What I did: Attended the musical “An American In Paris” in Downtown Houston.
Object of the day: Playbill magazine handed out at show I saw Downtown.
2/26/17
Day after Republican Congressmen Darrell Issa said the Trump/Russia issue needs an investigation led by a special prosecutor.
What I Did: Attended a forum for candidates running for Chair of the Harris County, Texas Democratic Party.
