I was walking along Buffalo Bayou near Downtown Houston a few days ago and I saw the scene I've posted above.
The ducks in this picture have plenty of open water to explore and swim around in, but instead they hang out near a big nasty collection of trapped trash.
I don't know why we so often choose the worse option over the better option.
Maybe choosing the worse option is an impulse or a drive we don't fully understand or can't always control. Maybe we choose the apparently worse option based on circumstances we do not control
It is best to look at things with an open mind and an open heart. If we can be open of mind and heart, then maybe we will better understand the motives of others and better understand our own actions.
And anyway, I really have no idea what motivates ducks to do one thing or another.
