The City of Los Angeles has raised the minimum wage in the city to $15 per hour.
This is a strong victory for working people and for basic economic fairness. Cities across the country have raised the minimum wage. The negative economic consequences promised by conservatives for these cities have not taken place. There is a nationwide movement for higher wages for fast food workers and for low-wage workers. Hard working people merit a living wage. When wages are low, it is taxpayers who subsidize low-wage employers. The work of freedom is up to each of us.
