Star college football player Michael Sam of the University of Missouri has said publicly that he is gay.
Mr. Sam is looking to be drafted in the next NFL draft. It took guts to do what he did in coming out. He'll heckled and shunned by many.

The work of freedom is very much up to each of us as individuals.
At the same time, there are folks in public life who offer hope and who inspire the everyday work of freedom.
