Here are my feelings about some of my actions in the year ending today---
I think I maintained my longterm friendships well in 2014. It's interesting how things shift and flow over the years. I could do a bit better working on current friendships that I've met in more recent years and I think I could be more patient in listening to others. I spent a few days with a college student nephew this past summer which was a rare time together with a blood relative outside my parents. That was good There was no new subject or topic I became overly interested about in 2014. But I expanded my knowledge of baseball by focusing on 19th century baseball. I also read extensively about Colonial America and New World exploration. I gained some knowledge of Native American history in 2014. I intend to keep reading about the New World and Colonial America in the year ahead. We went to London in 2014 which was the chance of a lifetime. My wife made it happen. I went home to Cincinnati for 10 days which was good. I made a number of drives to Galveston and so made good use of living near the ocean. I also did really well just driving around Houston and taking pictures and looking around. Houston is an interesting and hopeful place. There is so much to see just in everyday life no matter where you are. The three bands I listened to most in 2014 were Kraftwerk, The Chemical Brothers and School of Seven Bells.
