There was an air quality alert in Houston on June 11, 2014
Here is a portion of what the Houston/Galveston National Weather Service said we can do to limit the impact of the bad air on the day of this alert--
"....HIGH LEVELS OF OZONE POLLUTION IN THE HOUSTON...GALVESTON AND SURROUNDING AREAS..YOU CAN HELP PREVENT OZONE POLLUTION BY SHARING A RIDE...WALKING OR RIDING A BICYLE...TAKING YOUR LUNCH TO WORK...AVOIDING DRIVE THROUGH LANES...CONSERVING ENERGY AND KEEPING YOUR VEHICLE PROPERLY TUNED."
(Painting is Claude Monet's view of smog obscured Big Ben and Parliament in 1900 London.)
I'd add to all these steps that we could have proper environmental regulations & that private industry should make some changes instead of just asking folks not to use the drive-up window at Taco Bell.
Here are the facts about climate change.
Climate change is real.
I often say here that the work of freedom is up to each of us and that the work of everyday resistance is up to each of us.
Yet for as much I appreciate the National Weather Service warning us about hurricanes and rip currents, the facts are that climate change requires more government regulation and tough enforcement of those regulations.
