POLICYMAKERS KNEW A LONG TIME THAT OUR JOBS AND WAGES WERE AT RISK, BUT ONLY ADVOCATED FOR THE RICH---NORWOOD GENERAL MOTORS PLANT

Since I'm flying to Cincinnati soon, I've been watching a 1981 Charles Kuralt series on Cincinnati history. I recall watching this when it aired on local Cincinnati TV back in 1981. 


The series is available for sale at the Cincinnati Historical Society Museum at Union Terminal.  

Part 6 of the show was about the future of Cincinnati 1981-2000.

This picture here is from an interview with the head of the Cincinnati Urban Appalachian Council in front of the Norwood General Motors plant. That plant is now long gone. 

This whole segment--34 years old--is about robots and the decline of good blue collar jobs. 

Policymakers on both sides of the aisle knew what was coming and did nothing but help the rich and the stock market. Nothing but privatization and stadiums. What a racket year after year. 

We've been sold out and we so often fight each other instead of caring for one another.

As simplistic as it may seem, we've got to live in a more kind and open way before we've lost everything. The work of freedom and of a better life is up to each of us.
