I was struck by the complexity and intricacy of this everyday thing. Everyday life is interesting. A good book about the things we see in our cities is The Spotter's Guide to Urban Engineering. Valuing everyday life, and by extension ourselves, offers a way to making the best use of the time we have in life. When we connect the dots between the value of everyday life and then the value of our own lives, maybe we'll have a more clear sense of who to fight back against when not paid fairly for our work or for when our political system is owned by the super-rich.
