 I'm sorry for the loss of Houston Police Officer Richard Martin who was killed earlier today by a driver who intentionally hit him with his car during a high speed chase.
Terrible things done by drunk and fleeing drivers in Harris County won't surprise anybody familiar with our area. It happens every week it seems. I hope somehow Officer Martin's loss can lead to safer roads in Houston and Harris County. So much of this carnage and death would be avoidable if we would just be more patient and less mean and crazy. Please slow down and be careful on all the highways of life.
