![]() Congratulations to the man who recently interrupted proceedings in the United States Supreme Court with a call to overturn the corrupt Citizens United decision. Before being removed by security, Kai Newkirk said the following in the Supreme Court chamber---"I rise on behalf of the majority of the American People, who believe that money is not speech, corporations are not people, and our democracy should be for sale to the highest bidder. Overturn Citizens United. Keep the cap in McCutcheon. The people demand democracy." (The illustration above is of Mr. Newkirk standing up and speaking at the Supreme Court. Here is a link to a video of Mr. Newkirk's remarks.) The "McCutcheon" Mr. Newkirk referenced in his comments was the case being argued in the Court when Mr. Newkirk spoke up. McCutcheon vs. the Federal Elections Commission threatens to allow even more money into our already bought-and-paid for political system.
