TEXAS FLOODS CAUSED IN PART BY CLIMATE CHANGE---I DON'T CARE IF WE HURT OURSELVES, BUT WE ARE HARMING OTHERS WHO DID NOT ASK TO BE HARMED

The Texas State Climatologist appointed by former Governor George W. Bush says that climate change is part of the reason Texas has seen so much flooding in recent weeks.

Above is a picture I took in Houston yesterday. There was a flood taking place.

From the Texas Tribune---Climate change is taking a toll on Texas, and the devastating floods that have killed at least 15 people and left 12 others missing across the state are some of the best evidence yet of that phenomenon, state climatologist John Nielsen-Gammon said in an interview Wednesday.
"We have observed an increase of heavy rain events, at least in the South-Central United States, including Texas," said Nielson-Gammon, who was appointed by former Gov. George W. Bush in 2000. "And it's consistent with what we would expect from climate change."

If it was just ourselves that we harmed, I'd not care so much.  If we don't care about the facts or about the future, then so be it. If we want to live without care for anything at all then let us live that way.

But the fact is climate change will harm most of all the poor all over the world.

So we have to keep on making the point that we can't go on living this way. We are harming people who have signed for the violent uncaring ways that define so much of Texas and the United States.
