THOUGHTS ON THE SANDERS/CLINTON RACE---SANDERS NEEDED TO SAY TRUTH ABOUT DEMOCRATIC PARTY ESTABLISHMENT

Here are my thoughts about the Sanders/Clinton race--

Hillary Clinton cares about our nation. Most Clinton voters are good and kind people. I've worked to avoid criticism of Clinton in recent months. Such criticisms don't change minds and only build walls.

When I hear Bernie Sanders is no Democrat, I say I'm not represented by a Houston/Harris County Democratic Party that appears to have not a single prominent Sanders backer.

It was local Democrats who passed the cruel Houston anti-food sharing ordinance and who say nothing about a disturbing pattern of police shootings of people of color that has been detailed by the Houston Chronicle.

No matter where you live as a Sanders voter, does your voice matter in your local Democratic Party?

I believe the political establishments of both parties care most about themselves, are more cliques and about personal networking than about public policy and winning elections, are contemptuous of many of their base voters & are not willing or competent to address climate change, money in politics or respect for the value of everyday work and everyday life.

The Sanders campaign has been of great value in taking on the Democratic Party establishment and about putting forth the idea of Democratic Socialism as our economic structures fail us just as our political structures fail us.

Sanders needs to go all the way to the convention and to continue to make his case.

​It is up to each of us to make these points as well. The work of freedom, justice and hope is up to each of us.
