![]() In my recent Midwest travels, I stopped at the Tippacanoe battlefield and museum near Lafayette, Indiana. With this post is a picture I took of the battlefield. Tippacanoe is where the dream of a broad Native American resistance to white encroachment took a serious blow. The battle was fought in 1811. Here is the website of the battlefield location and museum. Here is a brief discussion on C-SPAN of the legacy of the battle. There is value in fighting even when the odds are against you. The cost of assimilation into a conquering culture may not be worth the price. The knowledge that in the past people have fought back is of lasting value to new movements of resistance and empowerment. The battlefield is not far off of 1-74 near Lafayette. You should stop and see it if you get the chance. Please follow me on Instagram. My user name is Neil_Aquino. Please read all of NeilAquino.com. Please like my artist page on Facebook.
