![]() I saw these turtles today in a small tributary to Buffalo Bayou about 3 miles from Downtown Houston. I don't know what causes the water to be whitish, but it might not be completely toxic. Who knows? The white/silver thing in the water to the center/right of the turtle log was a fish. It was a good-sized fish. You've really got to give the Earth's creatures credit for hanging on and often thriving despite our presence. We've got to be as tough these turtles and that fish as we pursue the values of respect for life and fair play for all in an often hostile death-culture environment of guns, resistance to health care for all & anti-working people politics. The good news is that unlike a turtle or a fish, we have the ability to shape the environment around us by everyday resistance. The work of freedom is up to each of us.
