I had my first ever green beer this evening for St. Patrick's Day.
I don't know what kind of beer it really was. I just asked for a green beer and took what I was given.
Along with my beer, I read a book.
I acquired the skill of reading in a loud place a long time I ago when I read a book while the punk rock band was playing at the Jockey Club in Newport, Kentucky.
The bar in Houston today was quite noisy for St. Patricks' Day. I'm glad I've retained over a quarter-century the ability to concentrate on a book over the din.
The book I read with my green beer was The Making Of African America--The Four Great Migrations by Ira Berlin.
From the New York Times review of this book---"
With this book and my green beer, you see that I am all about diversity.
