I recently read an obituary in the New York Times of an advocate for Jewish folks trapped in the former Soviet Union named Jacob Birnbaum that ended with a useful thought.
About his efforts to help Soviet Jews and the dark days when it seemed that nothing would get better, Mr. Birnbaum said---“You can’t do anything but plant seeds of ferment...and you hope that ferment spreads.” All we can do is put forth our views and hope for the best. The good news is--as Mr. Birnbaum saw with fall of the Soviet Union--is that often things work out. Here are ideas for everyday resistance against our money-owned, violent daily culture. The hopeful work of freedom is up to each of us. If folks could fight for freedom in the repressi Soviet Union, surely we can do the same in the United States. Please read all of NeilAquino.com
