Speaking About Democracy To Houston LGBTQ Political Caucus

I used the 90 seconds allotted to candidates to speak about Houston Democracy Project & the John Cornyn Houston Office Protest at this evening's monthly Houston LGBTQ Political Caucus meeting. I'm a dues paying member.

I said hold people we support on Election Day accountable & be ready to show up no matter what. We must vote and we must be ready to show up as required for the authoritarian threats ahead.

They had a solid crowd last night as you see in the picture above. Thanks to Daniel Cohen for picture of me.

The Houston Democracy Project works daily to inspire, organize and strengthen pro-democracy coalitions in Houston and Harris County. The Project will continue through 2024 at the least.

I’m an organizer of the Weekly John Cornyn Houston Office Protest. The Cornyn Protest team has been outside Senator Cornyn’s office each Tuesday for seven years now with one clear message: In addition to voting, we must show up physically and non-conventionally for the fights over democracy ahead.

I’m a member of the Southwest Democrats, Tejano Democrats, Bayou Blue Democrats and the Houston LGBTQIA Caucus. I have a political science degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati and ran a Cincinnati City Council office.

I read a lot of books and follow baseball closely.
